Yaroslav (Jaroslaw), another beautiful town in Poland | IN MY LENS

I just stopped for coffee in Jaroslaw, on my way from Zamosc to Zakopane. I knew it has a unique market with very characteristic townhouses about which I learned in the History of Polish architecture lessons (one of the toughest subjects at my university - we had to learn to draw and describe hundreds of Polish monuments! :)).  As a result, I can now share with you what I remember. The city seems a little sleepy, as if time had stopped here (I was very surprised to learn that 40 000 people live here!), However, the size of the town hall and the market show that it was once (XV - XVII c.) an important city. As in many cities in Polish Podkarpacie region there was a mix of Polish, Jewish and Ruthenian cultures.

Tourists have not discovered the city yet, so the market serves for a parking lot. Let's hope for Jaroslaw to be discovered soon (because it deserves it!), so that the city center can be full of restaurants and cafes :)
